3 Wheeled Buggies
A 3-wheeler is ideal for off-road walking & taking on terrains, from bumpy pavements to woodland tracks. They are also simpler to maneuver on kerbs, and they are less prone to slipping down when as opposed to 4-wheel models.
MadeForMums reviews editor Kath tried one of these three-wheelers while with her newborn and three year old daughter, putting it through its paces on the tarmac and on tricky ground. You can read her review here.
Stability
Four-wheel buggies with their centre of gravity balanced by your child's weight in the seat, are typically more stable than three-wheelers. However, that doesn't mean an older model with three wheels isn't worth a look, since some of these models are made to withstand anything from rough terrain to busy high-streets.
For a buggy that's really easy to handle and won't let you down on bumpy roads, look for one with large rear wheels and an adjustable front wheel that locks. These all-terrain buggies also have pneumatic tires that are perfect for handling non-paved surfaces. They can be used even on sandy beaches and tracks in woodlands.
They're also excellent buggies to run with since they offer excellent stability on more rough terrain and can help you stay with your running partner. They are also great for going up and down steep kerbs too and a majority have a built-in suspension that ensures your child will be able to ride comfortably.
A 3-wheeled stroller can be a challenge to maneuver because of its wide frame. It is more difficult to maneuver through narrow spaces and doorways than a 4-wheeler. Some manufacturers have addressed this issue by using clever design that flips the wheels up when they are not being used. This reduces their size and makes it easier to squeeze through doors.
If yes, look for a lie-flat position and if the design is compatible with second seats and buggy boards (if you want to add a toddler onboard). Check if the buggy has the ability to lie flat, and if it's compatible with second seat and buggy boards if you intend to bring a toddler along. Many 3-wheelers fold flat and can be stood upright when collapsed - handy if you have an insufficient car boot or a small storage space at home. However, some require you to remove the front wheel prior to folding if you want it to fit into more compact spaces.
Manoeuvrability
Three-wheeled buggies are more movable than strollers with four wheels. They typically have a swivelling wheel on the front that lets you shift direction quickly and steer using just one hand. Some models have locks on the wheel to provide stability on rougher terrain. Some models can even be used with a second seat or buggy board if you're looking to expand your family.
If you are planning to remove your three-wheeled buggies from the roads that are asphalted it is recommended to choose one with pneumatic tyres. They can handle the most difficult terrain. They may have to be filled from time to intervals, but they'll be more durable and puncture-proof than solid tyres. Find a model with a a lockable swivelling front wheel to help you negotiate tricky surfaces.
A single front wheel can also be a reason that three-wheelers tend to be bulkier than four-wheeled buggies when folded. Check that the model you choose fits in your car's boot and can be placed in a straight line if needed. Certain models can fold with one hand and are freestanding when collapsed, which will save space in car boot spaces that are smaller.
A well-constructed 3 wheel pushchair can cope with all terrains, from busy streets to woodland tracks. It is important to consider how you will use it every day. If you'll be doing the school run with it, it must be able to handle the kerbs and steep slopes. If you'll be jogging with it, ensure it has an adjustable swivelling'stretch' lockable front wheel to keep the ride stable.
Kath the MFM reviewer, found that her three-wheeled stroller was able to take on urban and walks in the countryside. She noted that it could navigate cobbles, rough paths and bumpy pavements easily and was comfortable to jog with. It's also a great option for day trips because it offers plenty of storage space. It has an ample, spacious zip-top basket that is covered and an expandable 50+ UV hood. It can be adjusted to fit a baby's needs from birth, including a carry cot or lying-flat seats. It is also compatible with the most well-known stroller seats and second seats.
Fabric Sling Seat
The primary distinction between a fabric and a modular one is the fabric sling. It is a part of the frame of the buggy, as opposed to being placed on top like a modular chair. This allows for a more ergonomically appropriate position for the baby, leading to a lower center of gravity at just the right height. This results in a smoother push, a less hefty curb-pop (you don't have to exert as much effort and weight to lift the buggy off the curb) and improved balance and stability.
The sling fabric used in these types of seats are extremely durable and easy to clean. Developed specifically with applications for sling chairs in mind they are UV-resistant and air-tight. They also have a great anti-aging capability and are easy to clean with mild soap and water.
If you're a jogger, or are a fan of off-roading, an all-terrain 3 wheeler could be more your bag than a 4-wheeler. These models are generally larger, more stable base and utilise tyres with air for agile smooth moving over rough terrain.

Modular Seat

Modular seating can be set up in a variety of ways to meet different seating requirements. Modular seating can be easily adjusted to create a cozy place to watch films, or a large arrangement for entertaining guests. Many modular seating systems come with cushion covers that can be removed, making it easier to clean up spills and stains.
Modular Seating can be designed to blend in with existing decor or stand out as an accent piece. A variety of fabric, color and shape options ensures that you can choose a modular seating solution that fits your taste. There are many functional features offered in modular seating, like hidden storage compartments that allow easy organization and decluttering of living spaces.
3-wheel buggies are particularly good for off-road and all-terrain adventures as they have more stability than strollers with four wheels. The large, highly manoeuvrable front wheel allows for a quick and smooth motion, while the tyres are typically filled with air and have suspension, which gives you a great ride on even the roughest of roads and trails. They're also great for walking up hills as the wheels aren't as close to the ground as they are on four wheel pushchairs.
Often 3-wheel prams are popular choice for parents who enjoy running and jogging with their child, as they provide excellent agility and are less bulky than their 4-wheel counterparts. The GB Upp XL, for instance, features a sleek burnished aluminium frame with a fast one-handed fold as well as forward-facing and rear-facing seats. The Babyzen Yoyo, on the other hand, has a black frame with an infant carrycot that can be placed in a fully lie-flat position and air-filled tyres.
Another excellent all-terrain choice is the incredibly lightweight, highly maneuverable and amazingly stylish Mountain Buggy Sport verso. This is a buggy that truly future proofs your wallet and will take you from the moment you are born with the carrycot all the way to toddlerhood with the seat that can be rearranged (and beyond!). It does this all within the footprint of one buggy.
